This position supports a new airborne radar program that will be executed out of the Raytheon Dallas location. The position involves the adaption of a complex radar software code base from a ground based platform to an airborne platform. In addition to the modification of the existing code base, new software functionality/capabilities will be added in order to meet program specific requirements.

This is a leadership position to fill both the role of the Software Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the program and serve as the functional Section Manager for the software engineers supporting the program. The IPTL has leadership, budget, and schedule responsibility for execution of the software related functionality on the program. As the section manager, the candidate is responsible for the functional management (mentoring, career development, recognition, etc?) of the engineers in the section. The successful candidate will have a good balance of technical and management experience, good communication skills, and the ability to motivate and lead the team to successfully meet program commitments.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience with the following:
    • Prior leadership leading software teams.
    • Track record of meeting budget, schedule and technical capability commitments.
  • Bachelor?s of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • Earned value management experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing real time embedded software.
  • Ability to understand and communicate team status, remove team barriers, proactively mitigate risks, and dynamically adjust team execution to meet program needs.
  • Ability to provide cross discipline, customer, and management coordination and communication.
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain required program SAR clearance. Last clearance investigation should be 6 years or less.

Desired Skills:
  • Prior functional management experience.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate team.
  • Experience developing radar software.
  • Radar signal processing or sensor control experience.
  • Cyber, AT, and/or EP experience.
  • DO178 experience.
  • Experience integrating software on large complex programs.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
