This position provides you the opportunity to gain valuable skills regarding data science, machine learning, and cloud processing via two analytics projects.

Your role in one project is to develop and implement new analytic algorithms and capabilities for a group of ISR problems using particular data, and also to participate in the design and running of experiments to assess the developed algorithms and capabilities. The algorithms are relatively simple and the focus is on getting them to work on real-world problems and data. The system runs in the cloud using Apache Spark. Your role is the day-to-day algorithm development person in a small project team, working with a software developer and with advice from a senior algorithm person in the team. The other project is either a related internal R&D (IRAD) project or on another R&D contract activity; the choice depends somewhat on timing.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills: Ability to work in a small project team and on the diversity of functionality needed in a research project's test bed.

Master's degree in computer science, engineering, physics, math, or related discipline; or Bachelor's degree in one of these areas with relevant experience.

Some familiarity with the ISR problem domain.

Software Skills: Cloud processing (especially Apache Spark and ElasticSearch), Python, Linux OS.
Basic Qualifications: Must have some relevant background that supports an ability to work on algorithm implementation and performing experiments, such as some prior experience or else basic math skills.

Full-time programmer skills; software design/code/debug/deliver

Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
