Description: The successful candidate will be deployed to the SPP program working in the mechanism area. This engineering position will include designing moving mechanical assemblies, details, and drawings in CREO, release of documents in EPDM, support of manufacturing, assembly and testing, as well as a variety of other engineering tasks requiring innovative thinking and advanced engineering approaches.
Desired Skills: A current TS/SCI w/poly security clearance
Working familiarity with AIAA-S-114 Moving Mechanical Assemblies for Spacecraft
Demonstrated working knowledge with CAD software such as Pro E, Solidworks, CATIA, IDEAS or NX.
Demonstrated Experience with spaceflight hardware design, testing, and integration.
Basic Qualifications: Strong education in mechanical engineering discipline with coursework in analysis, design and systems integration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to understand/generate engineering drawings and bill of materials required
Experience managing data in databases like Excel and Windchill (EPDM) required.
Working knowledge of Mechanical design, material selection, stress analysis, technical writing.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing including tolerance stack-up analysis.
Ability to work under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy.
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/poly security clearance
