Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) in Fullerton, CA is seeking a qualified systems engineer to support Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) for satellite navigation. The responsibilities for this position include ensuring continuous (24/7) operation and maintenance of geostationary satellite navigation payload and corresponding Earth station equipment for safety critical air navigation. Needed skills range from RF and digital hardware troubleshooting and maintenance, algorithm knowledge, anomaly investigation and resolution, data processing tools, script writing and maintenance. The selected candidate will be working with a small multidiscipline team, and will be monitoring daily performance to anticipate and prevent issues in the operational system. Occasional domestic travel, as well as on-call (night and weekend) support for field issues is required.
? Minimum of 4 years of equivalent experience in the systems engineering domain
? Ability to perform complex data analysis, including experience using analytical methods to solve problems
? Strong written and verbal communications skills, including technical writing and presentations to senior management and customers.
? Strong multitasking skills
? Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, planning, and time management skills
? Literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
? Ability to plan tasking for, and lead both software and systems engineers, work independently with minimal direction
? Experience with integration, test, operation and/or maintenance of RF transmission/reception systems desired
? Experience with ClearCase and/or ClearQuest desired
? Experience with Matlab desired
? Automated requirements management tools (DOORS) experience desired
? Engineering-level knowledge of Global Positioning System (GPS) algorithms and data analyses desired
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.
