About the Position:
National Grid?s Transmission business isfocused on creating the most intelligent transmission network in the US;facilitating the evolving needs of customers and a decarbonized energy future.To create that future, National Grid must have tariffs, policies, and reliability standards in place that allows for safeguarding of infrastructure necessary to deliverthe most intelligent transmission network and ensures our power generationbusiness continues to provide safe and reliable electricity to the Long IslandPower Authority (LIPA).
National Grid operates over 9,000 miles oftransmission across New England and New York, including a wholesale LNG storageand proposed liquefaction plant; HVDC transmission delivering clean hydro power from Canada; and power generationcontracted to LIPA.
The Transmission Technical PolicyManager will be responsible for National Grid?s influencing and shaping ofexisting and new tariffs, policies, and reliability standards; as well as leading a team of analysts to move forward a proactive strategy of shaping the landscape to invest in transmission and develop new infrastructure necessary to deliver a clean energy future and intelligent transmission network. The role will also be responsible for all interactions with theNorth American Transmission Forum (NATF), in which National Grid is a participatingmember in this best practices forum, and the Edison Electric Institute (EEI)committees responsible for shaping transmission and generation reliabilitypolicy at the national level.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Engages and coordinates across the transmission and generation businessto shape the direction of external stakeholders to author new and makemodification to transmission and bulk power system reliability standards andcriteria development

MoMoving forward tariffs that allows National Grid to move forwardwith those asset plans and investments, and market rules exists that allowNational Grid and its customers to realize the full value of those investments(e.g., energy storage participation in NE markets, and new services forNational Grid?s LNG and HVDC investments)

EEEnsuring that National Grid?s engineering and operation and compliancefunctions understand the impact of new tariff requirements and ensuring thatcompliance mechanisms are in place to meet requirements.

DeDevelops and executes National Grid?s strategic approach and commercialframeworks for National Grid?s HVDC companies and NationalGrid LNG.

LeLeadsa team of analysts to execute on these priorities of the entire TransmissionTechnical Policy team (analysts shared between NY Technical Policy, NETechnical Policy, and NERC Technical Policy)
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Bachelor degree in business, policy or engineering required
7+ years of work experience in Electric Transmission and/or PowerGeneration, commercial and/or project management, and alliance and stakeholdermanagement
Abilityto align and influence stakeholders
Experience working on multiplesimultaneous initiatives
Entrepreneur mentality
