Contribute to a multi-functional integration product development team engaged in radar system signal and control processing design, development, simulation and specification. Specifically model and analyze performance of discrimination and tracking requirements for ballistic missile defense (BMD). Understand the radar system capabilities, threat capabilities, and characteristics of adverse environments. Utilize modeling and simulation as a method to implement and assess algorithm performance. Support the preparation of presentations for concepts and performance results at internal/external working groups, technical interchange meetings and customer reviews. Conduct requirements verification and integration & test in the lab. Develop data analysis tools, perform analysis of the data, troubleshoot and document anomalous system behaviors.
Desired Skills: MS preferred. Expertise in Signal Processing, image processing techniques, and modeling signal processing operations. Experience performing trades studies, requirements development - analysis, derivation, allocation, and documentation, engineering design as well as software development processes and Systems and software modeling such as Agile and Model Based System Design. Experience with requirements verification in a lab environment including troubleshooting, and integration & test. Familiarity with solid state antenna design. Familiarity with design, tools and environments for radar systems and subsystems for performance analysis and modeling. Familiarity with computer architectures, system security, embedded systems and algorithm development for a range of system/subsystem applications. Strong leadership, administrative and, interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills, (written and verbal). Able to work independently or as a member of a team.
Basic Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent "STEM" field. Engineering experience in algorithm design and/or radar control product development. Familiarity with techniques in pattern classification/recognition, data analytics, decision systems, and/or familiarity with predictive data filtering techniques (e.g. Kalman filters). Proficient in the use of Matlab and C++ or equivalent high level computing language. Strong familiarity with SysML, software design patterns, and software architecture, mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis and signal processing. Demonstrated experience in algorithm development, troubleshooting, analysis, and one or more of the following areas: sensor (radar) system analysis, sensor control design, modeling, simulation, integration, test. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
