About the Position:
·Toincrease overall transmission system reliability by providing contractoroversight of all Inspection and Maintenance activities as identified by TransmissionAsset Management work plans. Primary activities include coordination and contractorcrew supervision of structure tower painting, structure footer inspection andrepair, wood pole inspection and treatment, helicopter visual/ infrared/comprehensive line inspections (emergency and routine patrols), ROW maintenanceand other transmission line maintenance activities.
·Assurethat the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance forall work locations are met, maintained and documented.
·Coordinateall post fault helicopter patrol activities for trip/recloses and Lockouts on anemergency basis including weekend call out as well as emergency storm events.
·Workwith our internal safety partners to ensure that contractor Health & SafetyPlans (HASP) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) documents are pertinent to theproject, current, and adhered to.
·Planand Coordinate the daily work activities of contractors for transmissionmaintenance programs and projects.
·Whererequired, plan and submit timely transmission line outage applications (TOA’s)and serve as the authorized clearance person.
·Monitorprogram and project progress, document contractor or company crew activitiesand prepare monthly reports including unit tracking and financial budgetaryprojections.
·Providethe interface between field functions and all service partners. Reviewengineering drawings, technical specifications, survey site locations for inspection& access considerations, and attend project meetings.
·Participatein and lead incident analysis (IA) teams as required.
·Assurecompliance to all federal, state, local and company safety and environmentalguidelines, laws and regulations.
·Providequality assurance that work is performed in accordance with all specifications,company standards & Electric Operating Procedures (EOP’s), and contractdocuments.
·Challengeefficiency, performance and value for National Grid while verifying the accuracy of contractorinvoicing and project deliverable data.
·Developand recommend alternate designs, materials, methods and techniques with theview to constantly improving technologies and deliverables to our internalclients.
·Prepareand present periodic oral or electronic written reports regarding workassignments and inspection maintenance progress.
·Ensurehighest standards of professionalism are maintained when interacting withinternal and external customers.
·Assistwhere required, with the interfacing and reporting requirements to allregulatory bodies.
· Otherduties as assigned
Knowledge & Experience Required:
·Twoyear degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalentrelated work experience.
·Fiveyears transmission or T&D line construction & maintenance supervisoryexperience, or ten years transmission or T&D field construction experience.
·Familiaritywith various Hot Stick/ live line construction techniques.
·Thoroughunderstanding of electrical principles and hazards associated with electrical T&Dwork.
·Abilityto read and interpret construction prints, electrical one line drawing’s andother pertinent documents.
·StrongKnowledge of federal, state, local, OSHA, and company safety and environmentalregulations.
·Successfulcandidates will be required as needed to travel and work throughout the serviceterritory for extended periods of time (overnight stays, extended hours andweekends as needed) in support of emergency situations.
·Excellentinterpersonal skills with ability to establish relationships at all levels,both internal and external to the company.
·Validdriver’s license is required, minimum Class D, CDL Class A preferred.
·Authorizedand qualified “Clearance and Control” certification or have the ability tobecome qualified within three months of hire.
·Possesscurrent certification for “Flying in the Wires & Obstruction Environment”or ability to obtain within 3 months
·Solidcomputer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, andAccess).
· Strongoral and written communication skills
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

O&M Expense: Budget Accountability - $9M
