Position: Guard - U.S. Expat (Level II)

Location: Afghanistan

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The U.S. Expat Guard is responsible for performing internal guard services overseeing smaller groups of the guard force and/or specific sectors or functions of the guard program.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete vehicle and personnel entry control points (ECPs) and over watch personnel.
  • Perform escorts, perimeter towers, and internal foot patrols.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the customer/client.

Crucial Requirements:

  • Minimum 23 years of age.
  • Shall be a citizen of the United States; possess an active U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Possess a Military background in combat arms, having worked in the capacity of Army Military Occupational Specialty series; 11B Infantry, 18 Special Forces, 31BMilitary Police, 19D Calvary Scout; USMC Military Occupational Specialty 0372 MARSOC, 0311/0331 Specialist, 5326 SEAL; 5352 SWCC; or Air Force Occupational Specialty AFSC 3POX1 Security Forces, AFSC 1T2X1 Para-Rescue.
  • Must have received an honorable discharge as verified by a form DD-214 (U.S. Military). Personnel who have been discharged with characterization of ?General under other than honorable?, ?Bad Conduct?, or ?Dishonorable? are disqualified from this position.
  • Perform unarmed-screener duties by searching visitors, their vehicles, and their belongings. Screeners shall be proficient at utilizing hand-held metal detectors, a walk-through metal detector, and high throughput personnel inspection systems (Rapid Scan).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Shall be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Must be able to qualify on primary U.S. military weapons and crew-served weapons. Contractor personnel shall have the ability to become properly trained and qualified on any Non-Lethal Weapons (NLW) that are recommended by the coalition forces. Any special weapons qualifications will be defined by the COR.
  • Shall be qualified on primary weapon e.g. Calibers 9mm, 5.56mm, 7.62mm. The COR will define any special weapons qualifications.
  • Shall be able to perform internal security guard services, at any potential internal security posting for up to 12 hours at the direction of the PCO, ACO, or government authority, often in austere conditions to include extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain or snow, while donning all required personal protective gear.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
  • Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
