The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objectives include: Influencing systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer/end user; providing affordable, best in class, life cycle sustainment services after system deployment.
WLED core competencies include Safety Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability Engineering, Affordability Engineering, Risk and Opportunity Management, Logistics Engineering, Training, Technical Publications, Parts Availability/COTS Management, Parts and Materials Control Board (PMCB), Spares and Material Management, Repair & Upgrade, Depot/Field Engineering, Systems Integrity, Failure Reporting and corrective Action System (FRACAS), and Availability Engineering.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for Human Systems Integration (HSI) program support across a diverse spectrum of programs. However candidate will also have the opportunity to be exposed to other Whole Life Engineering disciplines based on need. The candidate will report to the Whole Life Warfighter Solutions Department / Human Systems Integration section at Warfighter Protection Center, Huntsville, Alabama.
This position can be a salary grade G06 or G07 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the positon.
•18 months+ experience with Human Factors / Human Systems Integration
•18 months+ experience in preparing and presenting customer and/or management level briefings
•18 months+ experience utilizing Microsoft office tools (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint).
•Experience with defining user task analysis and mental models as it relates to User Experience
•Experience with Human Computer Interface design/development or Hardware Analysis as it relates to MIL-STD-1472F
•Demonstrated understanding of MIL-STD-470, maintainability
•Experience supporting operator assessments
•Experience with publishing technical journal articles / conference presentations
•Ability to travel up to 25%
