Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience). Agile experience preferred.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is not required at time of hire, but should be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Entry Level Systems Support Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Perform requirements analysis and definition
Contribute to the development and update of program-specific plans and processes
Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings
Maintain schedule tracking of activities on assigned program
Generate and provide updates to various internal and external status reports
Attend and support engineering peer reviews
Perform audits of process and work products
Provide configuration control of software, hardware and documentation
Provide program guidance and support deliveries and milestones while maintaining schedule
Communicate proper process steps and tool usage

Proficient ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
Ability to sell concepts and ideas
Proficient ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate should have completed an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
