Description:Research, develop and design Mechanical Support Equipment used for Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Trident II motor/missile transportation, component handling and checkout. Prepare design requirement, specification control and detailed design documentation. Coordinate subcontract design and hardware acquisitions. Investigate and resolve fabrication problems at Lockheed Martin and subcontractor facilities. Investigate and analyze field-related problems remotely and at operational FBM sites. Perform engineering document change and maintenance in accordance with established engineering procedures.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, prefer degree in Mechanical Engineering
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
Mechanical concept development, design exposure
CAD (Creo, I-Deas, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Modeling, drafting and release experience
CREO and PDM experience
Additive manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5
Familiar with the development of Tooling/Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) used for the manufacture, integration, test, transport and handling of spacecraft and associated critical hardware
Working knowledge of industrial standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA and AWS -Design for manufacturability exposure
