QC and Final Inspector B

Reporting to the Director of QA/RA, this position performs complex in-process and final inspections of an electro-mechanical nature using a variety of inspection methods and techniques to determine if a product meets quality standards. Methods include visual inspections, measurements and functional testing. Must ensure that the product meets specifications in terms of its function and appearance.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Performing inspections to drawings, work instructions, test instructions, checklists, procedures, Change Orders, deviations, and service notes.

Performing visual inspections to ensure there are no cosmetic defects, e.g. color and physical appearance.

Releasing product for shipment, i.e. final review and approval of Device History Record (DHR), including all associated data and documentation for Pumps, Track, and FEMs products.

Sharing responsibility with production operators for ensuring that finished goods are segregated until final release.

Working from engineering prototype and production released inspection procedures.

Recommending modifications to improve quality.

Providing feedback to production, planners and technicians to improve process and product quality.

Preparing nonconformance reports for products not meeting specification.

Evaluating test equipment for proper operation, set-up, utilization and application.

Providing input for improving the QC final inspection process and submits improvements via Change Order to document control for implementation.


TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanical inspector in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience working in an ISO 9001 required.
ISO 13485 or FDA regulated environment is desirable.
Advanced training in inspection techniques at the junior college level desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
Attention to detail.
Visual and color acuity required.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking for 4-5 hours at a time required.
