The Logistics Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team of supervisors in the daily execution of all warehouse and receiving activities within the Centralized Distribution Center. This person will contribute to a faced paced environment and work closely with other Logistics and other functional areas to include, Quality, Production Control, and Engineering in support of critical program and factory requirements. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with these functions to develop and implement strategic goals, scheduling and prioritizing, coaching and process execution. Candidate must possess a customer-focused, results driven attitude in a demanding high volume environment. Candidate must have experience with Collective Bargaining Agreement, attendance policy, security standards including closed area custodian requirements, safety of people and product, training requirements, and audit readiness.
This is a critical role requires a highly dedicated individual who can take ownership and provide procedural / technical support to their team and ensure the execution of quality delivery of services to both an internal and external customer base.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Leading, directing, and reviewing work of Exempt and Bargaining Unit team members in order to accomplish results.
•Monitoring Bargaining Unit attendance reports for compliance.
•Monitor and assign training for compliance.
•Review warehouse and receiving operations daily and when required assist in resolving complex problems.
•Interact with area management and other functional organizations to assess workflow issues.
•Flow pertinent policy and procedural information to employees
•Ensure compliance to all pertinent directives, work instructions, safety, security, law, and collective bargaining agreements.
•Contributes to operational plans that impact the achievement of results
Required experience and skills:
•6 years relevant prior work experience
•Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
•Strong working knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain functions
•Proven leader with strong influential communication, decision making, and analytical skills
•Previous management experience where multiple projects and conflicting priorities were the norm
•Responsible for making minor to moderate improvements of processes to enhance performance of the job area.
•Leadership skills to motivate employees while driving change
•Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
•Previous experience working in a cross-functional and/or bargaining unit environment.
Desired experience and skills:
•Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and urgent requests to ensure that RMS business needs are met
•Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers, customers, and team members
•Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience; SAP/PRISM system knowledge.
•Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
