Quality Specialist – Construction SME

Seeking a quality professional with expertise in general construction whose technical acumen and knowledge of quality systems will support the mission of the Quality Program. Candidate will optimize project execution by overseeing construction repair operations and ensuring those operations meet the established standards of reliability, usability and performance.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction during and after activities are performed:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective CQC program.

Responsible to the

Project Manager to ensure compliance with the requirements identified in the statement of work and the Contractor Quality Control Plan for all work performed by KBR, its’ on-site subcontractors and off site fabricators.

Responsible for reviewing all submittals for conformance to the project requirements.

Monitors implementation of the CQC plan by Site QC Inspectors (if applicable) and provides back up support on site as may be needed from time to time.

Maintains authority necessary to act in all quality control matters for KBR.

Additional Responsibilities:

Employing quality oversight techniques, quality training, statistical methods, assessments and other quality tools to improve the customer journey

Ensuring that work condition requirements are met by performing site assessments and audits, generating reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions to management

Implementing performance evaluation and prediction methods to improve the safety, reliability and maintainability of water purification systems and equipment

Validating contractually required standards for project execution and verifying that those standards are met for every deliverable related to water purification

Aligning quality management function with water purification needs to ensure that water purification operations deliver value to customers

Analyzing and solving complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of value-added practices in water purification

Using experience, problem-solving skills and interdepartmental communication to develop and improve processes

Providing guidance to less experienced team members across all levels of the project, as needed

Implementing safety standards and ensuring all safety reports, metrics and communications are in accordance with KBR’s Zero Harm Program

Provide reports and communications to the client related to safety in accordance with the contractual requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred


years of experience in quality management and general construction

Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management, including corrective and preventive action programs

Ability to recognize the need for equipment repair

Ability to follow technical instructions and utilize reference materials to improve construction reliability

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio)

Must have a valid 30 hour OSHA 1926 Construction certification

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
