Senior Buyer

As a Senior Procurement Specialist you will be purchasing materials or equipment in either of the pipelines, subsea, electrical, Construction, instrumentation, piping, static, process or rotating equipment categories.

This role is a key part of the supply chain and responsibilities include:

Composition of the bidder’s list and the strategy through which to approach the market

Undertaking due diligence to mitigate external supply risk from supplier selection through to contract execution and management.

Using knowledge of commercial contract law to develop and sign off pertinent contractual terms and conditions

Leading commercial / contractual discussions with suppliers

Is the single point of Supply Chain Management accountability for supplier performance and leads supplier performance improvement meetings

Identifies, implements and realizes value through effective ‘strategic cost management’ utilizing best in class methods and tools and mitigates business risk through ensuring rigorous contract management controls

Routinely communicates openly and with integrity to key business stakeholders to ensure alignment of the Supply Chain and the internal customer

Promotes compliance with HSSE Code of Conduct

Skills and experience required:

Experience required in standard Supply Chain Management functional processes

Must be familiar with cost reimbursable and

Systems and tools in project performance and category management.

Previous experience in Construction, Energy, Manufacturing or Transport etc.)

Ability to work proactively with minimum supervision

Ability to set and meet own objectives and deadlines

Good teamwork skills and experience of working in multi-discipline and multi-company teams

High level of self-motivation and enthusiasm

Track record of delivery in project environment

Excellent communication skills

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
