GDIT is seeking a Budget Accounting Technician in support of the Naval Medical Research Unit, San Antonio, TX. NAMRU-SA is a major research and development center conducting medical, dental and directed energy biomedical research, which focuses on ways to enhance the health, safety, performance, and operational readiness of Navy and Marine Corps personnel and addresses their emergent medical problems in routine and combat operations

    1. Knowledge of all phases of the research accounting process, including budget formulation, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
    2. Experience with budget/finance/travel systems such as: Experience in reviewing Research, Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) commitment and obligation documents in the Standard Accounting and Reporting System, Field Level (STARS/FL) accounting system; Funds Administration and Standardized Document Automation System (FASTDATA), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), the Defense Travel System (DTS) and Invoicing, and Receipt, Acceptance and Property Transfer (iRAPT) for use in performing tasks; services shall not include personal services and/or inherently Governmental functions.
    3. Experience in running queries and reports from the financial systems.
    4. Familiar with the Government Purchase Card (GPC) and performing tasks associated with the (GCP) program.
    5. Knowledge in preparing SF1081 forms and submitting to Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) for cost transfers.
    6. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    7. Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.
    8. Knowledge of all phases of the research accounting process, including budget formulation, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.


0-2 years of related finance or business analysis experience.


Contract requires Associate’s Degree with three (3) years’ experience in the DoD community, or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least one (1) years’ experience.

Bachelors Degree in Finance or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
