Job Summary: The Forklift Production driver is responsible for but not limited to the following duties obtaining, transporting, and verifying supplies, raw materials and ingredients taken from staging areas to the production lines. This position is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all materials used by the assigned line in a safe and timely manner adhering to all safety, GMP and quality standards.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
Ability to read and comprehend process instructions sheets in English
Ability to work with other departments
Ability to safely drive a forklift- rider/or hand pallet jack and troubleshooting
Excellent attention to detail
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, fractions)
Ability to use a calculator
Basic knowledge of computers and troubleshooting issues
Ability to consume/goods issued in SAP
Ability to communicate process of PEELE sheets
Knowledge of material tracking forms
Knowledge of hand held scanners
Ability to move up over 40 lbs
Job Duties:
Perform required safety check of equipment before use
Check production schedule for products to be run
Obtain and transport supplies from staging areas to production in a safe and timely manner
Verify and keep record of supplies being transported to and from the production line by use of material tracking sheets
Scan consumed supplies from material tracking sheets into inventory management system
Work with area staff and other departments to follow up and resolve usage and inventory discrepancy issues in a timely manner
Keep work area clear and clean, breakdown boxes, place trash in receptacles and clean containers as required
May participate in daily area R&R
May perform general labor duties as needed
May perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to understand the effects of product damage
Ability to solve problems independently
Must be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team at all levels
Knowledge of GMP’s
Ability to be PIT Certified
Knowledge of general plant safety rules
Ability to work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Minimum 6 months production experience required. Minimum 6 months forklift experience preferred.
