PROJECT LEADER – CONSTRUCTION
The Project Leader, Construction
assumes responsible for the daily operations of an individual project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. Capable of running an entire project of $7 to $15 million or bid packages on a larger project. Supervises and directs the daily efforts of the technical and administrative sides of a project. Responsibilities include project setup and subcontracting strategy, shop drawing review and processing, contract changes, owner/architect/engineer daily relations, subcontractor relations, and all required owner and in-house reporting.
Position is located at a client site in Burkville, AL. No per diem or relocation will be offered.
Supervises and directs the daily efforts of the physical construction of the project through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction, and code/specification compliance.
Responsibilities include project setup and subcontracting strategy, shop drawing review and processing, contract changes, owner/architect/engineer daily relations, subcontractor relations, and all required owner and in-house reporting.
Planning organizing and coordinating project activities in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems and requirements approve by the company
Day to day contact and communication with clients, customers, contractors, and project team members.
Working with a client that has a high demand on quality/safety/process/accountability.
Working with and interface between engineering group and business team.
years’ construction experience, with a good understanding of all trades associated with commercial and industrial construction
Minimum OSCH10, required for site access
Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices related to construction and ability to manage work permit process.
Ability to communicate written and verbally to client, team and management
Ability to lead meetings and take meeting minutes
Ability to work with minimal supervision in daily tasks
Knowledge of technical vocabularies and terminology common to construction industry.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets and applications
This position is located on a working plant site.
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities:
extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, climbing stairs, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Walking distances can be up to 200 meters.
Stand or sit for periods of up to 4 hours
Some lifting may be required.
Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and interpersonal skills
Must be able to maintain positive relationship through daily communication with the client
