ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Safety, demonstrated behaviors in support of company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries.
Plans and deliver programs to train managers and employees in workplace safety & environmental practices
Assist in accident investigations and may prepare incident reports required by regulatory agencies. Ensuring that Simple Root Cause (SRC) analysis are used during investigations.
Conduct inspections of the organizations facilities/equipment to detect existing or potential accident hazards and determines corrective measures
Provide safety & environmental technical expertise to facility leadership to ensure a safe work place and world class safety culture
Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local environmental regulations and Conagra corporate environmental policies.
Perform all activities associated with Storm Water compliance.
Manage all waste disposal activities, including hazardous waste management and disposal. Assess all waste suppliers at least once every three years for compliance with their permits.
Lead sustainable development activities at the facilities, including reduction in utility, energy and material consumption and corporate citizenship efforts.
Implement Conagra Brands Environmental Management System including periodic self-assessment of Environmental Compliance.
Develop and implement training to ensure education of all plant team members on appropriate environmental issues.
Understand and assist plant in implementing and tracking “Key Concepts”.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the plant and corporate organization.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Be able to research and learn about sustainable development, hazard waste management, storm water compliance, Conagra Brands Environmental Management Systems, and safety programs as needed.
Strong PC skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, SAP)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated experience of building and leading teams
Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations
Experience performing risk assessment preferred
Demonstrated understanding of culture and behavior safety
Ability to work various shifts on occasion to deliver training
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Four (4) year college degree
Experience working in a food processing or packaging environment
Experience work in a USDA, FDA, OSHA, or GMP compliant environment
Proficiency in MS Office Programs
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit, stand, walk and climb stairs during time on duty
May be subject to blood borne pathogens and other infectious illnesses, occupational hazardous materials and associated protective activities and donning personal protective equipment
Basic computer skills and ability to operate monitoring equipment required
Physically able to respond timely to emergency situations at facility
