Develops, codes, deploys and maintains web applications and websites.

 
 

1. Provides advanced application development and technical support for customer websites.

 

2. May work in a consulting capacity across multiple tasks or contracts.

 

3. Collaborates with graphic artists to develop web page graphics that support interactive, marketing-focused content.

 

4. Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations and enhancements of existing systems.

 

5. Prepares functional specifications from which programs will be written, then designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs.

 

6. Participates in the technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements.

 

7. Oversees systems tests and monitors test results and corrective actions.

 

8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff, and may have supervisory responsibilities.

 

9. May serve as a technical team or task leader.

 

10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 

11. Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

10-15 years of related experience in web software development.

 

Job Description:

 

The Sponsor is seeking a Web Developer to join their team. The position involves developing web-based solutions to capability requirements identified by various program offices. The position also involves enhancement/refresh opportunities for existing solutions, either to update applications to current baseline or leverage existing solutions to increase capabilities.

Duties:

  1. Provide web application software-programming/coding support for web-based solutions and may be required to provide training to the end-user groups on those solutions.
  2. Assess program office web-based requirements and propose technical solutions to fill the gap.
  3. Ensure all web-based solutions are compliant with various oversight authorities such as Public Affairs, Civil Liberties, System Security General Counsel, etc. (including Section 508 compliance).

The Sponsor is continually searching for ways to improve our processes and provide better services to our customers. The Web Developer is expected to provide insight into better ways of doing business and support us in the effort.

 

 

Mandatory Skills:

 

  1. Demonstrated experience writing object-oriented software code (e.g. C, C#, C++, Java, and Python) for web-based applications in the software development lifecycle, to include requirements management, system design, software development, and release planning.
  2. Demonstrated experience designing and developing databases using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (e.g. MS SQL Server and MySQL).
  3. Demonstrated experience writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  4. Demonstrated experience creating technical documents and participating in technical meetings such as Scrums.

 

Desired Skills:

 

  1. Demonstrated experience developing object-oriented software code applications using ASP.NET and .NET/C# including ancillary technologies such as Entity Framework and LINQ.
  2. Demonstrated experience diagnosing undefined issues and devising resolution strategies for complex technical problems in a collaborative team environment.
  3. Demonstrated training or on-the-job experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS.
  4. Demonstrated experience with source control and versioning tools such as SVN and Git.
  5. Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s applications and information security policies and practices.
  6. Agile certification, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
7. Cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Architect.
