Job Purpose:
Promote continuous and sustained improvement within US Operations toensure field operations compliance with all applicable regulatory requirementsalong with all associated company safety and technical policies and procedures.
·Provideday-to-day leadership and direction to the Pipeline Safety Management team toensure appropriate compliance, technical oversight, and execution of the departmentwork plan.
·Work withthe jurisdictional leadership to develop and execute annual work plans whichensure appropriate prioritization of inspections and the best use of Complianceand Quality Assurance resources.
·SupportField Operations through the communication of enterprise and jurisdictionalcompliance performance via monthly and project related reporting,
·Collect,sort, and analyze inspection and audit data in order to identify deficienciesand overall trends and patterns which may adversely impact the compliance, quality,and safety of operations.
·Conductbenchmarking in order to recommend the implementation of best practices todrive higher levels of compliance, quality, and safety.
·Providerecommendations and assist in implementing corrective actions in order toimprove the compliance, quality, and safety of National Grid’s operations.
·Liaisewith Field Operations, Our Academy, Gas Work Methods, Process and Corporate Safetyorganizations in order to build capabilities and support campaigns and programsthat promote pipeline safety compliance and quality awareness.
·Promotethe philosophy of safe team work and development in order to achieve businessobjectives and continuously improve performance.
·Periodicallyevaluate Pipeline Safety Management team member performance in the field toensure alignment with Compliance Assurance and Quality Assurance inspectionpolicies and protocol.
·Developand establish Compliance Assurance and Quality Assurance inspection samplingplans for special projects, as warranted. Ensure all resulting Quality Assurance sampling plans align with therequirements set forth within Mil-Standard 105E-ANSI Z1.4.
Knowledge &Experience Requirements:
·Bachelor'sdegree preferably in an engineering discipline (or a related technical discipline)or equivalent 15+ years’ experience*.
* Must possess a minimum of fiveyears field experience in Gas Construction and Maintain, and/or ElectricT&D, Damage Prevention and/or Gas and Electric Customer MeteringServices, Gas Instrumentation andRegulation, and/or Pipeline Safety & Regulatory Compliance
·Stronginterpersonal skills and have the ability to develop, maintain and managerelationships at all levels within the Company
·Strongknowledge of work and safety rules, work methods, standard operating proceduresand regulations is required
·Excellentoral and written communication skills are a must, as are excellent observationand documentation abilities and a high degree of personal integrity. The idealcandidate will be self-motivated, confident, efficient, decisive and committedto a strong and consistent quality assurance program
·Workingknowledge of personal computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint,etc.) as well as the various intra-departmental systems (CRIS, Maximo, Storms)is desired
·Specializedquality-related certification in Six Sigma and Tap Root methodologies forproject analysis and incident investigation analysis is recognized
·Cross-regionaltravel for the performance of departmental duties is required and willencompass a minimum of 25% of the Manager’s annual duties.

·Conceptualthinking: Sees patterns or trends in safety and compliance inspection/audit data,notices when deficiencies are similar to past situations

·Teamworkand collaboration: Promotes teamwork and team effectiveness among fieldinspectors, communicating expectations of the team and delegatingresponsibilities while providing support and structure
