The opportunity

As part of a newly awarded Project, KBR are currently sourcing for an Airport Environmental Officer to be based 2 days a week at our Client office in Mascot, NSW, and the remaining 3 days per week in our corporate office in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic environmental planner to join the team and share our growth journey.

The role is open to senior environmental practitioners, ideally with experience ranging from eight to ten years.

What you will be involved with

This role will provide technical support, write reports and plans, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects.

The role will have a strong focus on works for the Bankstown/Camden airport variation and will likely comprise the following responsibilities:

This role will provide technical support, write reports and plans, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects.

Performing work in the areas of environmental impact assessment, natural resource management, permitting and approval processes

Provision of project environmental management advice and oversight in relation to environmental legislation and considering a range of matters such as contaminated land, vegetation, surface water and groundwater, and noise and air quality

Oversight of construction activities including on-site roles such as environmental auditing, site inspections, etc.

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and government and private stakeholders

Managing and delivering projects on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards

Bidding for and winning work


Must be an Australian Citizen, as AGSVA clearance is required.

Police clearances will be required from any overseas country the successful candidate has lived in for any si

gnificant time frame

Knowledge and understanding of Federal, state and local legislation, regulatory frameworks, and policy, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes

Experience in environmental impact assessment and approval processes

Experience in environmental management such as

site-based environmental project works

High level of

understanding of the application and implementation of legislation and


Minimum 8 years

practical environmental management experience

Relevant environmental (Planning/Science/Engineering) degree (or equivalent)
