Senior Account Representative, Transport Business Development

KBR is an established and strong presence in Government Services – with an excellent track record of project management, programme management, services, portfolio management and consultancy in the Defence, Government and Infrastructure markets. We now have an exciting opportunity for Business Development professionals who can acquire, cultivate and grow our Infrastructure business – specifically in the Transport arena.

Location:

Leatherhead based with travel to overseas and UK destinations

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport quickly then develop long-term relationships with the potential to generate high quality business opportunities.

A self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision when interfacing with clients but who is also able to work with a pursuit team to develop complex bids.

Well-developed commercial acumen enabling the most attractive opportunities to be identified and then shaped by influencing the client’s thinking.

In-depth knowledge of Programme and Project Management with established key contacts among potential clients and partners at the senior management level.

Previous positions are likely to have provided a broad range of Government and/or private sector Programme and Project Management experience (i.e. multi-sector).

A good understanding of typical contract terms and an appreciation of the associated technical and commercial risk/reward profile.

Several years’ experience in business development with a demonstrable track record of successfully securing profitable contracts.

Likely to be working for a consultant or contractor in the Government or private sectors but, alternatively, may come from a client company.

Able to travel in the UK and overseas.

A technical or business degree is preferable whilst written and verbal communication skills are essential

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Lead the business development and pursuit of opportunities in the Transportation market as defined by our Business strategy

Build the pipeline of potential work opportunities as agreed with the Line Manager and recorded in the AIM objectives

Contribute to the winning of business as agreed with the Line Manager

Develop strong relationships with the appropriate Government officials, and other potential clients

Represent and promote Government Services capabilities and positive track record to potential clients to influence and shape the content of work to be put out to tender

Network with other Companies that may be potential partners to complement and enhance our business capability

Be informed of activities involving potential competitors and developments in markets where we operate

Develop market intelligence on trends, technology and business practices in our markets in relation to competitors and potential clients
