JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC has a new opportunity for a Network Engineer to work on an exciting, fast-paced national program.  This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the SETA and government segments of two customer networks and components providing voice, data, and audio/video communications. He/she   will serve as the network subject matter expert and will collaborate across multiple contracts and end users.  Qualified candidates must possess a TS//SCI security clearance with polygraph. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain customer networks, servers, desktops - Configure, deploy and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Manage and maintain user accounts, group polices, DNS; perform application integration and installation, patching and upgrading
  • Create and maintain network documentation using Visio, Excel, and Word
  • Assist customer staff with resolving any network or desktop issues involving SETA supported networks and requirement
  • Ensure networks are secure and meet all security compliance requirements
  • Identify and plan for hardware/software requirements—develop cost ROMs and coordinate purchase approvals; build, coordinate, execute network project schedules
  • Build workstations and servers and use security mandated hardening procedures
  • Occasional domestic travel will be required

Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • TS/SCI with Poly

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and forteen (14) or more years relevant technical experience or nineteen (19) years without a degree.
  • Knowledgeable about IP/TCP, VLANs, VPNs, GRE and IPSEC tunneling, as well as static and EIGRP routing
  • Experience with Cisco IP phones and Call Manager
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Windows 7 and 10 desktop support
  • 3 years’ experience as a system administrator
  • Server 2008 and/or 2012
  • Worked with Active Directory - creating and modifying user profiles and group policies
  • Experience with WSUS, file and application servers
  • Familiar with virtual servers and workstations using VMWare Workstation and ESXi platforms
  • Strong project management skills
  • Keen analytical and problem solving skills
  • Polished communicator (verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work with or lead working groups; succeed independently
  • Ideal candidate is a self-starter and makes things happen; organized, and detail oriented

  • Master’s degree and seven (7) or more years related experience
