Responsibilities for this Position
GDMS has an immediate opening for a Closed Area Lab Supervisor to join the Submarine Tactical Control Systems (TCS) team. This position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to perform technical activities that impact the design and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems. The TCS Closed Area Lab Supervisor performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system-level design, detail design and manufacturing of advanced electronics systems. The TCS Closed Area Lab Supervisor will be responsible for the successful, secure and safe operation, maintenance and usage of the Closed Area facility and equipment.
Ensure the implementation of all security policies and procedures as defined by the NISPOM document, DSS Representative and the GDMS Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
Supply personnel requesting lab access with required documentation, forms, briefings, and demonstrations
Provide personnel information for access forms and approval
Provide briefings and enforce lab access requirements for visitors, first time users, escorts
Provide briefings and enforce security procedures concerning media, information systems, safes, and storage containers
Documentation updates for Information Systems, Hardware Setup diagrams, SSP (System Security Plan)
Perform required physical and IS security audits and maintain logs
Support annual GDMS Audits and Federal DSS Audits
Perform necessary maintenance on tactical and support Government Property (GFE) equipment. Document failed GFE equipment and request replacement parts as required. Support GFE property identification, tagging and auditing
Perform or request necessary maintenance on GDMS equipment
Support Software Development and System Integration groups as required
Assist with scheduling lab use and resolving priorities
Former Military E6 or higher (including Radioman or Comsec Custodian)
Prior DOD Defense contractor experience
Sophisticated understanding of advanced electronics systems
