Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Advanced Information Systems Specialist. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with a dedicataed team to maintain a software developement and testing laboratory enviroment containing a variety of network and computing resources.
Representative duties and responsibilities:
Supports / Administers / Configures a network environment such as servers, routers, switches, etc.
Support / Administers / Configures VMWare-based virtual machine infrastructure.
Able to monitor / troubleshoot / rectify network issues on a physical and/ or virtual network.
Possesses an understanding on how to manage group policies, local security policies, and government standards for: Creating, modifying, and removing user accounts.
Develops / maintains / updates PowerShell scripting in support of automated system configuration and software deployment.
Reports status and discrepancies in system performance in a clear, concise and complete manner.
Analyzes, interprets and refines requests to assure understanding of assignment(s).
Collaborates with the team when additional information is needed to perform root cause analysis.
Supports the team with the validation and verification of new software builds during installs, assists with troubleshooting and documenting on the spot fixes to remedy issues post install.
Demonstrates willingness and ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
Performs daily system monitoring to maintain a high state of readiness.
Write and/or review system Operational Procedures and system documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ideal candidate should have several of following:
One or more Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco or CompTIA Certifications.
Demonstrated experience configuring and managing VMWare products.
Demonstrated experience configuring and managing Cisco network devices.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Experience with imaging and software deployment
Experience with PowerShell scripting.
Development of procedural documentation for complex IT activities
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance providing excellent customer service at all times, to include maintaining a good work ethic and assisting other team members as needed
Understanding of configuration management practices
Excellent Oral and Written communication skills
Willingness and ability to work as part of a team
Practices creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
Demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with non-technical and technical audiences
