This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer working for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (LMSSC) at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida Technical Data Products campus supporting the FBM Nuclear Weapons Technical Manuals (NWTM) program as technical writer and subject matter expert (SME). The applicant will perform specific duties to include, but are not limited to:
- Create documentation change requests ensuring technical accuracy and thoroughness of proposed changes.
- Incorporation of approved change requests into FBM Technical Manuals, Work Instructions and OD's.
- Ensure proposed and approved changes are captured in any and all related technical documents.
- Performance of technical reviews of documentation against source data.
- Provide writer technical documentation support for SWS facility proofings and activations.
- Reconcile documents with engineering drawings, resolve discrepancies with cognizant individuals and groups.
The applicant working in this capacity will be required to interface with Lockheed Martin Engineering, Logistics, Operations, and Safety organizations, as well as US Navy personnel to derive the required technical source data needed to create draft, preliminary, and final documentation.
Travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent years of experience within field maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of XML / PDF editing tools e.g. Adobe or Epic Editor etc.
Ability to work in a team oriented environment
Ability to travel
Desired Skills:
Strong technical writing skills
Basic knowledge of structured markup languages
Ability to analyze tasks and gather requirements for future executable electronic documentation
Strategic Weapons Facility (SWF) RBA (Reentry Body Assembly)
processing experience.
TRIDENT Missile Program experience with working knowledge of Shorebase documentation
Familiarity with TRIDENT Missile terminology
