Responsibilities: The Asset Management Specialist works under close supervision, responsible for routine configuration control of both contractor and customer IT assets. Asset management specialists follow government prescribed processes, documenting and/or validating the movement and transfer of IT assets via routine Install, Moves, Adds and Changes (IMACs) or Special Projects. - Support the Inventory and Accountability of IT assets located in the TSA Warehouse, TSA Data Center and CACI Facilities in Ashburn, VA and Arlington, VA.
Prepare required Government forms for shipping, receiving, transferring equipment within TSA sites or from/to other entities. In addition, coordinate complete documentation of assets in the designated TSA system database in accordance with TSA Asset Management directives and guidelines in the TSA Property Management Handbook.
Coordinate and process all TSA equipment that is required to be excessed and/or disposed of according the all established regulations.
Perform data destruction of the sensitive data on TSA equipment to be disposed.
Assist in the removal of servers, Cisco equipment, storage solutions, voice, video and other IT equipment as designated for excess by the Government. Reusable equipment shall be sent back to the TSA Warehouse for re-deployment.
Assist in the preparation of weekly reports on the number and type of assets received, shipping, transferred or excessed/disposed to include when transaction was executed and when the TSA Sunflower database reflected that transaction.
Assist in performing a full inventory at the TSA Warehouse on a quarterly basis and of all GFE deployed at CACI facilities in Ashburn, VA and Arlington, VA on a monthly basis, assisting in the preparation of reports of discrepancies and a list of the full inventory.
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
Has the ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
Plans and leads major technology assignments.
Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
May supervise others.
Associate’s Degree or higher and/or 5-15 years of experience.
