Raytheon Pasadena is looking for a Software Engineer to work on exciting projects with our JPL/NASA customer.

The successful candidate will be part of a larger team of developers working with program/project team members at various levels and will be an integral part of the team’s success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing software unit tests and full system tests
  • Run software tests to confirm desired functionality
  • Locate and fix software bugs
  • Work as part of a larger team to verify and improve overall performance
  • Assist in developing new software feature and code documentation

Education / Work Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Required Skills:
  • Proficient in the ISO C++/11 language
  • Proficient in the use of the ISO C++/11 standard library (STL) including:
  • Multithreading and associated construct (threads, mutexes, locks, condition variables, etc)
  • Generic containers and associated algorithms in the STL using iterators
  • Using function handles to work with "event" style programing
  • Knowledgeable in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using classes and derived types, Pointer to Implementation (PIMPL) design techniques, and Pure Abstract design techniques.
  • Ability to design unit tests for previously written code, identify points of failure, and propose fixes.
  • Ability to assist in reading code and adding comments describing low level functionality.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Desirable Skills:
  • Using TCP network sockets
  • Knowledge of CUDA API
  • SQL database language
  • Cross platform GUI design (wxWidgets or comparable)
  • Knowledge of both the Windows and Linux OSs

Work Location:
The work will be done in Pasadena CA
