Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management or Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Department of Defense secret security clearance is required within 12 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Fire Control Logistics Professional. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Assists in project/program tasks related to specific ILS elements
Provides ILS input to project/program plans and proposals
Supports other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements
Defines, reviews and tests system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability
Performs End of Life calculations for fielded spares
Manages items that are deemed to be critical and in short supplyMentors lower level team members in technical and interpersonal skills as required
Leads the review, development and modification of procedures and products for one or more ILS functions
Trains internal/external customers regarding procedures and processes and software applications
Supports internal audits and development and review of corrective action plans
Performs duties and responsibilities as the ILS functional area lead on process improvement teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Coordinates workflow to meet program and customer delivery requirements
Participates in the development of supplier requirements and Statement of Work
Provides ILS functional area inputs (technical and cost) to proposals
Independently creates documentation for management and program deliverables
Reports to an ILS Manager

Develops and administers integrated logistics strategies
Provides logistic support to field organizations and/or customers including spare or replacement parts and supplies
Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to maximize sales and profit for company and customer
Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes
Supports Equipment, Facilities, Computer Resources Support, PHS&T, RM&A
Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life
Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Proficient knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements: Supply Support, Maintenance Planning, Manpower and Personnel, Technical Data, Training and Training Equipment
Specialize in one or more of the ILS elements
Proficient knowledge of military/commercial requirements/ specifications applicable to functional area expertise Knowledge, understanding and use of internal/external procedures and policies
Conflict management skills
Proficient knowledge of the acquisition logistics process
Ability to coordinate other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements
Proficient in various ILS software applications
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Proficient knowledge of WBS, IMP/IMS, EVMS
Demonstrates leadership capability consistent with a team-based work environment
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing proficient knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
