Job Summary

Analyzes network requirements to integrate new systems or modifications to existing systems.

Supports range communications to include engineering, installation, and integration of communications equipment and facilities necessary to meet present and future communication requirements.

Performs engineering, design, fabrication, cost analysis, procurement recommendation, installation, maintenance, configuration change, development, documentation, surveying and integration of approved communications projects.

Supports new requirements to include engineering and/or integration of system modifications, range reconfigurations and new facility buildups relative to ECPs and SCNs.

Plans, proposes and implements modifications, improvements and upgrades of communications equipment and design

Supports equipment relocation to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration and installation in support of range growth or other requirements

Performs network engineering, to return inoperative equipment/ systems to operational status

Performs TEC support to include network engineering actions relative to short-term operational test programs

Performance network tuning using performance monitor and event viewer to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

Troubleshooting and configuring DOD compliant secure wireless technology, and Intrusion Prevention Systems

Develop network documentation, and status reports

Develop Network configuration documentation diagrams using Visio or CAD

Subject matter expert, providing consultation and guidance for Information Security with implementation of STIGs, remediation, and reporting requirements

Systems Engineering and Project Management Requirements:

Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies

Develop and apply advanced methods, and analytical techniques in the investigation and solution

Supports the Configuration management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to communications equipment or facilities, the generation of change request to improve operability/reliability/maintainability, within documented CM standards

Documents all maintenance actions in IMS


Minimum Requirements

Three to five years�¢���� experience in network design, project management, systems integration, configuration management, communications overhaul, and technical writing.

Master�¢����s degree can substitute for two years of experience.

Three years�¢���� experience in the following areas:

Advanced Network Troubleshooting Experience

LAN/WAN design and implementation using Cisco routers, firewalls and switches

Designing and Configuring WAN infrastructure consisting of multiple T1 and T3 lines, fiber,

Microwave data links, and wireless connections

Testing and monitoring CISCO switched networks and dedicated fiber, SONET, microwave data

Links and DISA provided WAN transport architectures

Complete Understanding of TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPV4, IPV

Must possess & maintain a valid state Driver�¢����s License

Must possess and maintain an active DoD Security clearance
