About the role

As the successful candidate, the main part of your role will be working within the Academy you will design and deliver innovative, interactive and technical training courses. Training will be delivered primarily at Eakring Training Centre however the role will include training at operational sites throughout the UK.

 

Your role will be to design and develop technical and safety training to meet customer requirements, the way in which this will happen is by maintaining a portfolio of training products ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance processes and to ensure training products meet relevant safety and technical requirements.

 

You will Deliver quality training in classroom and workshop environments, this will include reviewing the latest technical and safety bulletins to remain knowledgeable on safety training matters, review lesson plans and presentations to ensure sessions are delivered to a high standard and support the team by carrying out observations to identify and implement improvements.

 

You will also have to maintain training centre facilities and equipment, ensure training equipment is maintained, calibrated and tested as necessary and conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.

People will also look for you to carry out the role of assessor for the Power Networks Craftsperson, the way in which you succeed at this is by:

  • Assess portfolios of work to ensure individuals meet necessary standards;
  • Assess individuals carrying out practical activities to ensure they meet qualification standards;
  • Work with the assessment team to drive improvements.

About You

We are looking for you to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience, maintaining substation plant & equipment, with that should come the attributes of good commutation skills, time management and planning skills.

 

Other qualities you could bring to the role are experience of managing teams or work activities, you should also have a good degree of IT skills and be conversant with Microsoft PowerPoint.

 

AP as defined in NSI 30 is desirable, previous training experience, knowledge sharing or coaching of others would be advantageous;

Qualifications

Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship, appropriate technical qualification, - NC / HNC or equivalent Electrical Engineering Qualification. Desirable but not essential Safety Qualification - NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma.

Training will be provided to successful candidate to develop their presentation and training skills
