Job Description:

The Raytheon Global Business Services (GBS) Cost Analysis organization is seeking an individual to join its team as a Principal Financial Cost Analyst. The Analyst’s work product will have a direct impact on Raytheon’s competitive posture in the defense market place and customer satisfaction. For these reasons, a strong background in cost accounting, estimating, industrial management/engineering and/or analytical techniques is required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and protect Raytheon bookings by completing independent assessments of fair and reasonable supplier pricing
  • Drive affordability and value from Raytheon’s supply base through detailed fact-finding, should-cost analyses, and direct support for supplier negotiations, including testing the commitment, credibility, and motivation of suppliers
  • Develop should-cost positions using Raytheon and industry information
  • Plan, conduct, and report on on- or off-site supplier fact-finding to determine the following:
  • Support Affordability Strategies leading to long-term supplier cost reductions
  • Develop Production and Optimum cost scenarios to support supplier source selection
  • Develop margin analysis to establish supplier economics and support strategic pricing
  • Support Supplier bid analysis to determine competitive pricing levels and prepare for negotiations
  • Support key Raytheon Strategic Initiatives
  • Build and maintain Raytheon’s institutional knowledge of ESPX fact-finding methodologies
  • Help develop long term sourcing relationships with Raytheon’s strategic suppliers
  • Discuss and support cost findings with Government auditors and contracting officers

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 6 years Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or applicable experience
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Ability to influence or lead cross-functional teams without explicit organizational authority
  • Ability to conduct focused discovery of supplier costs and participate in subcontract negotiations
  • Understand and be able to articulate the importance of strategic pricing decisions
  • Utilization of appropriate analytic techniques to determine reasonableness of supplier proposed costs
  • Proficient in MS Office tools
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of significant scope and complexity
  • Ability to conduct detailed supplier fact finding
  • Experience working in at least 2 of the following areas:
· Raytheon or subcontractor proposal requirements
· Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
Operations or Product Line estimating
· Program Business/Cost Accounting




Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or the Defense Acquisitions process
  • Familiarity with affordability tools and techniques
  • Professionally present to large groups
  • Master’s Degree

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
