This contingent position is being considered & hired for all non-management levels (G08-G10) based upon selected candidate’s applicable experience.
Raytheon Blackbird Technologies is looking for an individual who will join the team supporting a major nationwide organization, with thousands of sites, to continually improve its complex multi-protocol nationwide network. An experienced Cybersecurity Technical Writer is needed in Morrisville (near Raleigh, NC) to support the customer team working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineering and operational project teams, end users and other stakeholders to create and maintain high quality documentation including executive level briefings, White Papers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Training Plans.
Master current internal documentation tool chain; Assist in development and improvement of documentation life cycle management.
Work with engineering teams to develop required tool, application or service training for end users. Document required and specialized training opportunities. Align with Organizational Training and Awareness team to ensure all technical training meets enterprise standards.
Collaborate with corporate communications to ensure communications plans, documentation and training are aligned; assist in creating departmental communications.
Engage and collaborate with end users to address content gaps, respond to feedback and promote continuous improvement of documentation experience.
Write clear and concise task-based information for a technical audience; familiarity with cybersecurity communications language and subject matter.
Have excellent writing and editing skills, familiar with AP style and Chicago Manual of Style.
Be a strategic thinker who is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
Understands the difference between information management and data management; ability to assist in both.
Must be eligible to obtain a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust – and may be required to obtain a higher security clearance.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Visio) including template creation and application; familiarity with XML topic based technical writing via DITA.
Working knowledge of DITA/XML authoring tools, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Understanding of 508 compliance remediation.
Experience and understanding of information management/information architecture fundamentals such as version control, content management, single sourcing and metadata.
Minimum four years’ experience in a technical writing field or technical engineering supporting role.
Experience in an agile environment and rapid deadlines.
Proven work experience as Project Coordinator/Communication Specialist or similar role
Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner
Hands-on experience with project management tools
PMP certification is a plus
Ability to capture meeting discussion at a rapid pace using either shorthand and or typing fast will be beneficial
Ability to quickly turn meeting minutes into a formatted document for distribution to stakeholders
Ability to use all MS Office Suite programs
Develop a documents from planning through approval
Ability to use content or document management software
Document versioning and audit trails
Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education. 128308
