SAIC seeking SOCS SATCOM Network Support - Engineer/Scientist 5 (Technical Manager) in Fort Bragg. This position is contingent upon contract award.


Provide SATCOM C4ISR and Network Engineering in support of (SOCS) SPAWAR Atlantic IPT on CSS SATCOM Ku-band auto-acquire satellite terminals, Combat Service Support Very Small Aperture Terminals in Ka-Band; X-Band; and C-Band (CSS VSATs) as well as other WIN-T sub systems. Operate satellite communications packages and be able to conduct network operation utilizing the technology. Assist the Government in the preparation of detailed test procedures for testing and evaluating the specified systems, subsystems, or equipment. Design build, configure, and maintain a Wide Area Network (WAN) and classified and unclassified Local Area Networks (LAN), in accordance with the Department of Defense Information Enterprise Architecture (DoD IEA) version 2.0, the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) version 2.02 and the Joint Information Environment (JIE). provide engineering support to allow the Global Network Operations (NetOps) Control Center (GNCC) to monitor and control Tactical and Strategic nodes and provide C5ISR services to remote locations.Specific technical areas must include working knowledge of DISA DISN network services, architecture, configuration, certification processes and procedures, CISCO, LAN/WAN, fiber, POTs and NSA approved encryption devices (TACLANE, KIV, KG, Cylink) equipment suite programming, deployment, and integration. Working knowledge of SDN versions. Ability to establish and maintain communication and technical infrastructure in Joint Operations Center (JOC) facilities, or facilities utilized during execution of exercises. Experience deploying and maintaining various types of military tactical radio systems, video teleconferencing and tactical antennas. Operational knowledge of cryptographic devises in include use, storage, and destruction. Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communications to explain communication network and requirements.


  • Bachelors degree from accredited institution in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related specialty, plus fourteen (14) years or more of related experience. 
  • Software Engineer only: Completed the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), other). 
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in C4ISR systems, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements. 
  • Recognized as an expert in Joint Warfighter C5ISR systems.
