Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
The Junior Embedded Developer shall have at least one (1) year of work experience in two (2) or more of the following:
Developing embedded software systems in assembly C, C++, or Java
Developing embedded software systems for Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, JunOS, or vendor-proprietary operating systems
Experience with operating system internals for Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, JunOS, or vendor-proprietary operating systems
Reverse engineering and analysis of software
Low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment
Bit-level data analysis
Systems engineering of large scale embedded systems
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with a Polygraph is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Junior Embedded Developer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The Junior Embedded Developer shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of software/system development work experience (Four (4) years of equivalent related military experience may be substituted for Bachelor degree); and have technical expertise in one (1) or more of the following areas:
Systems Requirements Analysis
Software System Design
Software System Development
Software System Integration
Software System Testing
Analyzes, decomposes, disassembles code, performs static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debugs and modifies software
Work often involves software operating systems, malware or electronic signals
Typically programs in both C and assembly language
Involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities
Conducts vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques
Performs analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems
Contributes to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations
May prepare and presents technical reports and briefings
May perform documentation, vetting and weaponization of identified vulnerabilities for operational use
Learning Reverse Engineering tools, both COTS and GOTS
Further job duties may include, but not limited to:

Test automation
Considerable knowledge of operating system fundamentals (interrupts, threading, virtual memory, device drivers) and internals (memory layouts and management, binary file formats)
Requires considerable knowledge and exposure to computer processor architectures and instructions sets
Considerable ability to perform all responsibilities associated with the position
Considerable ability to grasp and apply new information quickly
Considerable ability to handle more complex assignments
Shows considerable initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
Considerable ability to use scripting languages such as Python, Perl, bash
