Analyze and interpret data, procedures, activities, and pertinent documents to provide relevant and up to date information
to support decision-making and the effective working of National Grid.
At the higher levels this role will also design and implement procedures and policies within their area of work to improve
the working of National Grid.
At the higher levels this role will also manage relevant projects to add or improve functions of the department.
Provides data entry to support performance and financial reporting.
Responsible for financial and performance reporting on business area spend and operational costs.
Drafts business area's budget and performance trends.
Provide ad-hoc reporting to support requests from financial review meetings.
Responsible for maintaining reports and performance documentation in a timely manner.
Obtain sign-off on reports for business financial performance actions plans.
Assist with technical finance documentation according to policies and processes.
Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.
Proactively contribute to the development of a highly motivated, innovative and customer-focused finance team by supporting Finance/Process Managers in meeting/exceeding all relevant targets and strategic objectives within the business unit(s).
- A Bachelor's degree in a business, systems, or financial area and up to 2 years of related experience, or equivalent
work experience. An advanced degree / credits is desireable.
- Knowledge and experience in one or more areas of customer account management, financial structures, energy
management, information systems management, document management, paper and electronic document delivery.
- Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Skill in relational database querying techniques (SQL) desireable.
- Understanding of project management techniques and methods.
- Understanding of fundamental Change Management concepts.
- Understanding of US Postal System bulk mailing fundamentals desireable.
