Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is Required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Mission Planning Computing Infrastructure and Lab Management. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Support the Compute Environment (CE)/Lab with direct involvement in setting up/maintaining Linux and Windows environments and establishing product CE baselines for a unclassified and classified product and lab.
Establish/update/test changes to product directly supporting application needs, Information Assurance Requirements and Security Requirements
Work with CE lead to establish/update/test changes to product directly supporting application needs, Information Assurance Requirements and Security Requirements
Work with ISSO to establish lab Information Assurance (IA) baselines and continue IA support
Execute IA scanning and IA audit reporting
Supports development of requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system hardware elements
Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system hardware development life cycle
Integrates and evaluates hardware systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
Support system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly
Develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems
Prepares Bill of Material (BoM), provisioning, drawing management, assembly processes, installation planning/managing execution including lab management.
Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Identifies, analyzes and resolves system hardware design weaknesses
Receives instructions from immediate supervisor or technical lead
Contact with multiple work groups
Works under general supervision
Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department
May have some contact outside Engineering or with external customers
Travel may be required
Provides resolution to problems of moderate scope
Keeps abreast of technology trend

Working knowledge Linux/Windows operating systems, LAN, hypervisors, and Virtual Machine Environments
Familiarity with Python, Linux shell scripting, Windows PowerShell, and ability to write code or debug configurations
ESXI and Virtual Machine Environments
Centralized deployment via “puppet”
Configuration Management through Dimensions
Strict adherence to System, NISPOM and Lab SSP requirements
Familiarity with technical standards
Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and able to handle more complex assignments
Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
Very solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Very solid written and verbal communications skills
