Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission Principal Storage Engineer, in the Chantilly, VA area, with strong Customer relationships. The Principal Storage Engineer is a highly skilled and high impact individual contributor specializing in the role of enterprise storage infrastructure. This role is a critical resource within a fast paced, exciting, constantly evolving technology environment. Examples of responsibilities include: providing day-to-day support for various enterprise storage platforms in both production and testing/development environments. Assists in capacity planning as well as assist in the planning and design of new storage technologies. Storage provisioning for both project and business-as-usual initiatives. This position will also be required to help maintain backup policies and procedures to ensure accurate and complete short and long term backups. This role interfaces with end users, systems administration, distributed services and peer engineering professionals. This is an evolving and exciting role that has significant impact defining and shaping storage infrastructure capabilities. Manages a complex and modern storage environment including the latest technologies and protocols to data storage, replication and back-up services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

  • Strategy: Work closely with storage architects and operations team on areas for improvement along with possible solutions; Works with the Infrastructure Architects to develop strategies and direction for enterprise storage platforms
  • Project Execution: Leverages manufacturer or internal reference architectures to implement BOKF business and IT projects. Able to take a leadership role as project SME for enterprise-wide assignments. Collaborate with various technology and or/business line teams to scope and execute project requirements
  • Operations: Schedules and coordinates corrective and routine maintenance on critical storage and backup systems with appropriate vendors, customers, and support organizations. Partners closely with the IT operations teams to remediate break fix scenarios or address performance impacts. Continuously works to optimize and enhance performance capabilities of enterprise storage infrastructure platforms. Tracks capacity and performance metrics in order to optimize the environment as necessary
  • Process/Governance: Monitor external industry standards and key industry trends for storage related technologies and vendors with the goal of positioning BOKF products and services as leaders in the banking industry. Partner with the operations and risk teams to manage and refine key risk and performance reporting capabilities related to storage

Position Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of SAN/NAS storage technologies
  • Senior/Lead technical role capable of coaching and mentoring junior staff regarding storage infrastructure
  • Familiarity with IT terminology, technical concepts, and DR planning considerations such as backup and recovery, replication, and redundancy
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain automation scripts/jobs. Experience with Site recovery manager
  • Deep understanding of Storage protocols
  • Proficient with VMware, Linux, and Windows OS
  • Adheres to company standards and methodology, confidentiality and security requirements. Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 5-8 years of IT work experience in Infrastructure, Systems, and/or Storage environments performing storage planning, engineering optimization or equivalent work-related experience of 8-12 years.
  • Security +CE certification
  • Preferred not required: HDS Certified Professional, Brocade BCNE, NetApp NCDA, SNIA SNCP-E, EMC EMCSA
