Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Due to the nature of work performed at our facilities, US citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Data Integration Architect. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Architect, design, and develop new robust data integrations that enable our internal business partners
Review and refine requirements with business analysts and business partners
Mentor/lead less experienced team members
Provide ongoing support to ongoing data integrations
Modify existing data integrations for efficiency and supportability purposes
Documents and communicates database designs
Determines how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within the tables for a relational model
Defines logical attributes and inter-relationships and designs data structures to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance and accessibility
Designs, develops and implements database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs
Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy
Analyzes and determines informational needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements and data output and reporting capabilities
Selects appropriate database technology and data representation (relational, graph, column, etc.) based on analysis of user and application needs, customer and environmental factors, budget, and other constraints
Codes complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms
Builds windows, screens and reports
Assists in the design of user interface and business application prototypes
Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment
Provides expertise in devising, negotiating and defending the tables and fields provided in the database.
Adapts business requirements, developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers, and develops the data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for an application
Helps to develop an understanding of client's original data and storage mechanisms
May lead a design team
May supervise lower level employees

Highly proficient TIBCO BusinessWorks data integration architect with strong design and development skills
JMS and enterprise messaging proficiency using TIBCO EMS
TIBCO platform deployment and administration
Strong knowledge of XML, XSD, XPath and XSLT
Skilled at consuming various data sources including Oracle and SQL Server databases, web services and flat files
Strong database query and query tuning skills
SOAP-based web services experience
Experience exchanging data with a SaaS provider using RESTful web services
Experience developing IT solutions in an enterprise business environment and using source control tools for version control
Experience researching, organizing, analyzing and synthesizing data to support effective decision making
Familiarity with current web application development tools and practices
Proven organizational skills including: leading initiatives and modest projects; a facility to handle multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously; a track record of exercising independent judgment appropriately; and the ability to quickly understand and execute complex assignments when working on high profile outcomes with inherent risk
Solid presentation, oral/written communication, and inter-personal skills including the ability to: anticipate, influence & adapt to a wide range of audiences; cultivate relationships and leverage organizational understanding to facilitate decision making and buy-in
Proven experience developing solutions to complex problems that requires ingenuity, innovation and creativity
Experience using a data virtualization platform such as Denodo

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Management Information Systems
