Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Maintenance/CNC Machine Repair Technician. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Performs advanced electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
Performs light plumbing and general maintenance tasks
Perform CNC Machine Repairs
Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings
Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts
Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required
May perform advanced equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers
Assists in the procurement of parts and materials
Provides status reports to management
Utilizes and maintains preventative maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment per recommended schedules
Establishes basic metrics on maintenance of machines
May provide direction to other employees and mentors as appropriate

The desired applicant must have documented experience in CNC Machine repair
Considerable communication skills, both verbal and written
Considerable computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Database Software for Preventative Maintenance logs etc
Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics and prints
Considerable problem solving skills
Considerable time management skills
Considerable skill in diagnosing malfunctions in equipment and identifying corrective actions
Considerable math skills to perform basic calculations
Considerable leadership skills
