USfalcon, Inc., recognized as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the United States, is seeking a Technical Writer IV to work at Schriever AFB, CO.
SUMMARY: Technical Writer to support the Test and Evaluation (T&E) team at Schriever AFB, CO. The T&E team is responsible for conducting Operational Test and Evaluation test events on Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) operational systems. The Technical Writer author, edits, manages, and publishes a variety of products and documentation across multiple platforms. The Technical Writer will be the primary focal point for documentation grammatical review correction to ensure constancy across all projects. The Technical Writer will work with external organizations to ensure documentation fully coordinated and ready for publishing within the prescribed timelines.
CONUS travel may be required.
Assists with writing, editing, updating, and managing corrections test documentation to include test plans, data management and analysis plans, test reports, requirements documentation, PowerPoint briefing slides, and technical articles for publication.
Ensures test execution documentation meets customer expectations for grammatical correctness and consistency.
Maintain unit template files and organize/track changes for historical reference.
Ensures test documentation message and content is consistent in accordance with AFSPC guidance across multiple documents, forums, and platforms.
Provides assistance during line-by-line documentation reviews.
Identifies gaps and shortfalls in communication processes and procedures then propose solutions to overcome identified deficiencies.
Supports hot wash debriefs and After-Action Report development after each test execution event.
Provides accurate and timely responses to tasks and coordinates responses in accordance with command policies and procedures.
Carries out any other tasks that may be required in order to ensure customer mission success for test execution event.
Additional duties as assigned.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with technical writing, editing, updating, and managing corrections in technical documentation.
An additional six (6) years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for Craftsman education requirements, for a total of thirteen (13) years.
Must have excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to focus on building customer relationships.
Expert in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
Experience in publications processes and editorial standards.
Headquarters Air Force Space Command or Space Wing administrative experience.
SharePoint administrator skills and experience.
Familiarity of AFSPC command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships.
Working knowledge of various style guides used in development of AFSPC documents. (The Tongue and Quill, The Chicago Manual of Style, etc.)
Self-motivated, detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Must have good interpersonal and team skills to work effectively with existing team members, government customers, and outside agencies.
Education: Bachelorâ??s degree in Technical Communication, Journalism, English, Graphic Design or a related technical discipline, from an accredited institution
