The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objectives are to influence systems’ design to assure reliable, maintainable, and economical operation over its life cycle and to partner with the customer to implement the optimal life cycle sustainment approach.
WLED core competencies include Safety Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability Engineering, Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Parts Availability/COTS Management, Parts and Materials Control Board (PMCB),Logistics Engineering, Training Development and Conduct, Technical Publications, Spares and Material Management, Repair & Upgrade, Depot/Field Engineering, Systems Integrity, Affordability Engineering, Risk and Opportunity Management.
The Mission Systems & Sensors (MSS) business develops C4I and sensor systems for domestic and international customers and deploys these systems globally.
The MSS Whole Life Engineering Lead (WLEL) is responsible and accountable for successful technical, schedule, and cost performance for WLED scope of work on assigned programs and provides the primary WLED to Raytheon PMO interface. The WLEL often executes as Integrated Product Team (IPT) and/or Cross Program Team (CPT) Lead and therefore has a direct interface to the external customer as well. The WLEL is also responsible for the accurate, complete, and timely delivery of internal products to the WLED/Engineering discipline in accordance with Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development Process, IDS policies and procedures, and WLED product/process guidelines. The WLEL manages the WLED contribution to cost and technical proposals and support growth of the MSS and IDS business through the development of innovative life cycle sustainment solutions.
