Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an NC Programmer to support the Gear Room in RMS Sikorsky’s Stratford, CT facility. The Gear Room manufactures high precision machined components for a variety of military and commercial applications. The Gear Room is a fast paced work environment with a mix of legacy production and new developmental work.
The NC Programmer will create and revise Numerical Control (NC) program packages for NC controlled machines with a focus on vertical and horizontal lathes. Additional programming support may be required on multi-axis machining centers and mill/turn machines. Program packages consist of CNC programs, cutter selection/tool lists, setup documentation, work instructions, and other related items. The NC programmer will actively participate with shop verification of new NC programs and revise legacy NC programs to achieve quality and cost targets. Shop floor support will be required to resolve technical/producibility issues as well as to perform Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations.
Programmer will be responsible for creating new NC programs using CATIA V5 and editing of existing programs that were generated in different program formats (APT, CATIA V4 and CATIA V5).
Occasional working on off-shifts or weekends may be required to support production schedules.
BS Manufacturing Engineering degree with 2-5 years of experience
MS Manufacturing Engineering degree with 0-2 years of experience
Other Engineering degrees will be considered with appropriate experience
Good communication and project management skills
2+ years previous machining/NC programming background
Knowledge of NC machine technology, process planning, and cutter technology
CATIA V5 skills in solid modeling and NC programming
