Enter level Packaging Engineer will support multiple major production programs, by creating and maintaining work instructions for the packaging and shipment of end items, design, and detailing of special material handling equipment and shipping containers utilizing CROE design software. In addition, determine adequate packaging for incoming hardware, supporting various product and upper level assemblies. This position will also involve supporting cost reduction and process improvement initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for understanding the requirements associated with shipping hazardous materials. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers in a team environment. This position will involve the direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending a significant amount of time in and around factory areas.
Basic Design aptitude using related CAD software.
Proficient with Microsoft work, Excel, and Power point.
General Personal Computer Aptitude
Ability to apply analytical skill to solve Technical Problems
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with ESD safe materials used in packaging
Experience and knowledge in designing packaging for military hardware
Proficient CROE use or equivalent CAD software
Hazardous Material packaging, marking and shipping experience
Familiar with the Code of Federal Regulations CFR-49, MIL-STD-2073 and MIL-STD-129
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging Engineering/Science, or Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering, or related
Clearance: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
