The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading and developing a team of buyers that oversee the daily purchasing activities and support process improvements initiatives within the End to End Supply Chain (e.g. Accounts Payable, Procurement, Inventory Management, etc.)
The candidate will be expected to support tactical and strategic activities within Centralized Services to drive value and performance for overall Supply Chain/Procurement/P2P.
This role encompasses:
Support buyers, analysts, and managers on the new ways of working within the Centralized Services with ongoing regular engagement to sustain the journey to deliver performance excellence and achieve lasting behavioral change
Support ongoing development of end to end processes, to remove waste increase value, and optimizing the buying channels
Lead, coach & direct team to deliver tangible business benefits as it relates to areas of Supply Chain/Procurement/P2P
Extract data and analyze information from multiple systems to support and optimize departmental goals
Facilitate workshops with peers and key stakeholders to understand challenges and opportunities and develop solutions
Oversight of projects to deliver cross-business efficiencies, benefits, and change
Build a network across National Grid and effectively interface with others at all levels
Assist with developing business cases (with benefits, costing, ROI)
Craft & deliver presentations to management level
Commit to development of team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work culture
Perform other duties as required
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business or technical discipline and 3 years of analytical or business support experience; advanced degree/credits are preferred
Experience managing a team of direct reports as well as leading a cross functional team to deliver tangible business benefits
Knowledge of Procurement/Supply Chain/P2P systems, processes and SAP
Strong analytical skills, using systems including Excel, MS Word, Access
Ability to translate complex data requirements into robust and optimized solutions
Demonstrated experience in process improvement including understanding of widely known techniques
Ability to administer, analyze, interpret, create, initiate, resolve and implement management policies, operating practices and procedures for the functional area
Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation
Possess good negotiation and influencing skills
Experience in working in high volume, fast paced environment
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to operate with all levels of the business including organizing and facilitating workshops along with crafting presentations for senior management level
Demonstrated the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with matters of significant importance
