Quality: Demonstrates behaviors in support of quality work processes to include Statistical Process Control-SPC, Document & track production variables, downtime, product samples and make adjustments.
Continuous Improvement: Actively support the ConAgra Performance System (CPS): High Performance Work Systems participation; 5S participation and compliance, working in teams, problem solving, six sigma knowledge and involvement, continuous skills development-CSD participation and ownership, line and process auditing, autonomous maintenance-AMD involvement and ownership, cleaning, inspecting and lubricating (CIL) and Centerlining of equipment and line in general, line and equipment ownership, and other CPS foundational systems. Coaching and Leadership: Must have the ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers. Need to be able to perform all skills as outlined on the Skills Element Tree. Need to be able to act as a Coach and Trainer for other Maintenance employees. Must comply with all standard work practices and complete documentation in accordance with standard work. It cannot be overstated that the Stationary Engineer is a leader in that they assume ownership of the Assets. Moreover, they are “Co-Owners” of those assets with Maintenance. Drive 5S: Own a minimum of one (1) area in the plant and drive 5S for that area. AM – Asset Management: Own a minimum of one (1) piece of equipment in an area and be responsible for implementing Steps 1-3 in AM for that equipment. Area Auditing: Conduct a minimum of One (1) area audit per week. One Point Lessons: Develop One Point Lessons-OPL’s, Training Materials, and Standard Process Instructions-SPI’s to include, but not limited to creating power point presentations, training and presenting to Team Members across the organization. Good Manufacturing Practices: Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). PSM: Be a member of the Process Safety Management (PSM) Team. Emergency Action: Support the Emergency Action Plan.
The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the following:
Records data such as, temperatures of equipment, hours of operation, temperature and pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance.
Completes all required paperwork on time.
Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shutdown equipment.
Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components, using hand tools or power tools.
Oil and Lubricate Equipment.
Perform water testing, and add required chemicals to maintain the water system.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the Ammonia Leak Detection, Fire Protection, and Fire Water Sprinkler Systems for the industrial and office complex.
Requisition spare parts, materials, and supplies as required.
Record Maintenance and Operations Activities.
Simple Root Cause - SRC: Perform SRC as outlined in the SRC Triggers. Incident Inspection – II: Perform Incident Inspections as outlined in the II Triggers. Breakdown Analysis – BDA: Perform BDA’s as outlined in the BDA Triggers. Performance in this position can be measured by the timely completion of work, accuracy of Daily Record Keeping, and minimizing of downtime. Avoidance of catastrophic failure of assets through Infrared Scanning and Ultrasonic Inspections can be quantified. The Stationary Engineer works with Maintenance in monitoring and improving ALL Facility Utilities Assets performance indicators (MS, PF, BD, MTBF, etc.) Knowledge and Skills required to perform this position include general knowledge of overall plant operations, ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans, knowledge of Planned Maintenance, working knowledge of various equipment and plant processed to understand, interpret and schedule work orders, strong technical and mechanical aptitude. In addition, they need to possess strong Water Treatment and Chemical Treatment aptitude. Moreover, understanding the value of a good Condition Based Monitoring Program is paramount in increasing the reliability and availability of all assets Fluid Utilities – Refrigeration Skills Progression Program: The Stationary Engineer will be expected to progress through the “Fluid Utilities – Refrigeration Skills Progression Program” Other qualities necessary are good management skills in supervising and training employees, good written and oral communications and mathematical aptitude.
