Description:Perform a variety of duties to operate, monitor and repair any equipment used in the Power Plant and Industrial Waste Treatment operation such as steam boilers, centrifugal and absorption refrigeration machines, turbo blower, air compressors, diesel generators, steam turbines, and final clarifies, flocculation, reduction and oil skimming chambers, carbonating basin, agitators, aerators, collection sumps, cyanide conversion, vacuum filters, and storage treatment tanks. Conduct periodic inspections of equipment and/or operation to insure optimum performance. To eliminate or reduce down time, perform preventative maintenance such as repack bearings, changing oils, cleaning motors, and cleaning and replacing filters; clean and check equipment such as pH sensors, submerged combustion burners, sludge conveyer, lime shaker and chemical feeders. Maintain operational and/or equipment logs plus related paperwork as required. Refer unusual problems to Foreman, Leadman or chemist. Keep work area clean and orderly.
Basic Qualifications:
Equivalent to high school education plus specialized training in Industrial Waste Water Treatment and Power Plant operation. Four (4) to five (5) years experience.
