Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

Position Description: SharePoint Developer


  1. Understanding file sharing, office integration, record management, document management, and custom contents.
  2. Ability to create wiki pages, blogs, tagging, and forums
  3. Provide enterprise search on documents, contents, items internal or external to SharePoint
  4. Ability to create webpages, forms, and workflows
  5. Ability to troubleshoot complex SharePoint workflows
  6. Ability to work with SharePoint Apps, Page Layouts, and Web Parts
  7. Ability to understand SharePoint architecture and develop features according to SharePoint Enterprise standards
  8. Able to diagnose end user problems and prescribe that right solution
  9. Ability to create user and developer documentation
  10. Provide clear documentation and training to support the end user responsible for using features
  11. Understand SharePoint standards and apply development techniques that fit the SharePoint framework
  12. Knack for understanding end-user problems and discovery of the right process solutions
  13. Fully understand how end-users access and organize information

Languages and Tools:

In depth knowledge of programming languages that work with SharePoint to create implement, and troubleshoot applications and integrations:

  1. JavaScript – Intermediate Level
  2. CSS – Intermediate Level
  3. HTMLS – Intermediate Level
  4. JQuery – Intermediate Level
  5. SharePoint REST API
  6. SharePoint client-side technologies
  7. SharePoint Designer 2013

Specifics: Experience with the following:

Branding – use of SharePoint interface standards to create rich, interactive user experiences

REST/OData endpoints – Create application that perform CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete) operations on SharePoint data.


1. Designs, develops, codes, tests and debugs highly complex new software products or makes significant enhancements to existing software.


2. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.


3. Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.


4. Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.


5. Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation.


6. Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.


7. Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.


8. Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.


9. Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.


10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software developers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.


11. Serves as a technical team or task leader.


12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.


13. Participates in special projects as required.


10-15 years of related software development experience.
