National Grid is hiring an Analyst for our Distribution department in Providence, RI.
Analyse data and activities to provide relevant and up to date information to support the safe and effective operations of the Electric Overhead & Underground Lines Department. Coordinate administrative programs essential to the daily operations of the Department
Administer all office support activities such as the division sick, suggestion, EOP, record retention and training programs to retain training records.
Collect follow up workload for each individual storm and monitors progress to completion of same to insure storm parameters are met.
Coordinate the day to day relationship with Central Clerical in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate, customized solutions as needed to insure the effective operations between the organizations.
Develop and maintain analytical systems, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance time/consistency/safety/efficiency and operability.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
Available to respond, coordinate and lead activities during abnormal conditions or emergencies. Participate in rotating standby requirements of the Department.
Independently collate and analyse work unit within one or multiple areas using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department’s decision making process.
Respond to internal and external customer requests regarding analysis and development of data.
Maintain and provide information such as regulatory information in order to ensure regulators and other stakeholders are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs.
Monitor and review financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information.
Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid.
Prepare various reports including but not limited to vehicle utilization, ETR response, reliability and weekly platform hub packages.
A Bachelor's Degree and up to 2 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience. An advanced degree/credits is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and customer relations skills are imperative.
Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with legal agreements and contracts (Permits, Easements, Private Property Agreements, Surcharges Agreements, etc).
In-depth experience of a field or multiple fields of work processes.
Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation.
Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.
Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.
Experience and proficiency in relevant company related IT systems.
